I am happy to release this vivid pastel piece just in time for Valentine’s.  Whether you are celebrating with a sweetie this year or not, none of us are immune to the rose-red charms of love.  In this piece, I have included a rose in a unique vase which reflects the colors below, a parchment letter sealed with a ribbon, and an apple, displayed on luscious red fabric.

The medium is chalk pastel on paper, and the marks are crisp and deliberate, making this a clear and energetic piece.

“Tender Trio” is 14″ x 17″ inches and ships rolled gently and carefully protected in a tube.  *Please note the framed image is a mockup and meant to represent how the piece could look if framed by the buyer.*

I am doing an online auction for this ORIGINAL piece!  The bidding starts at $250 and ends on February 7th at midnight.  If you would like to bid, please click here or scan the Q code below.  Once you register, you will be able to make a bid and will be notified if at any point you are out bid, or if you won the piece at the end!

Scan this Q  code with your camera app in your phone to register and place your bid!

Any questions, please email jlibor@jessicalibor.com and I will get back to you asap!

The Brave Adventuress, ink, watercolor and 23 karat gold leaf on paper, by Jessica Libor 2019

Dear readers, during the month of May I did a creative exercise; daily sketch works!  Every day for 30 days, I created a new piece of art.  During this period I experimented with soft tones in inks, watercolors, and gilding.  Originally, I had planned to do a daily piece for 90 days.  However, I found that the time and creative juices that it took to create a daily piece was being sapped away from the creative energy I needed to create my larger pieces for my solo show coming up.  So, I capped it at 30 days–but will certainly look forward to doing this again!

Below are a few of my favorite pieces from this time.  If you are interested in any of these pieces or would like a link to the full available collection, please email me at jlibor@jessicalibor.com.

Work in progress.  A small study, painting from the imagination.  Summer feeling.  The white spaces in the painting will be gilded with gold once the paint is dry enough for the process.  I wanted to capture the joyous feeling of life in the summer.  Oil on board.

Beauty and texture and life encircled and distilled within a frame…sparkles and glimmers, rough paint that feels like sand and brilliant glimmers like dewdrops.  Butterflies (humanely harvested after their natural life cycle) captured and preserved in this piece.  “Morning,” a mixed media I recently created…email me at jlibor@jessicalibor.com if you are interested in purchasing this piece.

Jessica Libor at the Philadelphia Museum of Art with "Philadelphia Dusk"

Jessica Libor at the Philadelphia Museum of Art with “Philadelphia Dusk”

Hello friends, I am completely ecstatic to be a part of a super cool event being held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  I was asked to participate by donating a piece, and have created “Philadelphia Dusk.”   In “Philadelphia Dusk,” a 30″ by 40″ oil painting, I wanted to capture that moment in the evening where the light becomes golden, and bathes everything in an unearthly beauty. Any grittiness is washed away for a moment as the city becomes an idealized version of itself: golden, optimistic, a city of dreams. The clouds framing the city become a perfect backdrop for the light, inspired by Maxfield Parrish’s gilded fairy tale clouds. Here’s the piece.

The piece will be available to bid on that evening at the event during a silent auction.  The event is called “Fall into Street Art”, and will be held in an underground passageway beneath the Philadelphia Museum of Art.     Here’s what the space looks like.

The event is presented by Neiman Marcus.  And here’s what the invitation says word for word:

Join Philly’s most culturally connected contemporaries as the season’s hottest soiree goes underground. Inspired by the city’s vibrant street art and held in the Museum’s hidden tunnel, this event will be unforgettable. Enjoy mouthwatering street fare, open bar, music, and live performance, all while supporting the Museum. #fallintoart

VIP ticket holders arrive at 7:30 p.m. and experience an open bar featuring ales and cocktails, street fare, live performance, access to a private lounge, and celebratory gift.

$85 per person
$65 per Young Friend member

Standard ticket holders arrive at 8:00 p.m. and enjoy street fare, open bar, and live performance.

$60 per person
$40 per Young Friend member

Get your tickets online at www.tickets.philamuseum.org.

I hope to see you there!!  Enjoy your labor day weekend 🙂  Thanks for reading and feel free to share and invite your friends as well.

Thank you

Jessica Libor at the pop-up show "Oceanic" for Lord & Taylor

Jessica Libor at the pop-up show “Oceanic” for Lord & Taylor

Last weekend I had the opportunity and privileged of exhibiting new paintings at a pop-up show at Lord and Taylor, called “Oceanic.”  The show included ten new oil and mixed media paintings that I completed over the summer, most while I was literally sitting on the beach!  The paintings were all themed around the ocean and had a summery vibe.

I’d like to thank Lord and Taylor and the staff involved for all their help and support in pulling off “Oceanic”, and I’d also like to send a special thanks to the collectors and friends who came out and showed support.  I was excited that several paintings found new homes during the event.

I love fashion–always have, and believe that it’s just another art form.  It makes me glad to be able to meld two loves of mine-fashion and art-and be supported by such a great company with such fabulous style.  I look forward to combining art and fashion more in the future–after all, what is fashion but wearable art?

You can see the remaining available pieces on my studio shop at www.jessicalibor.com/shop.  Thanks for reading, and have an AWESOME day!!

This is one of my favorite drawings that I’ve ever done.  I took inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s incredible drawings, with their ink and chalk mediums layered on top of each other.

It’s also very special to me because my sister (an incredible artist in her own right…check out her photography) and her husband posed for me.  I named it “Lovers” because when they were dating, that’s what I would call them.  Thanks, sis! 🙂

This piece is sold, but you may purchase a very high quality limited edition print for $75.00.  It will be delivered to your door carefully packaged, and will be signed, numbered, and dated in ink by the artist (that’s me!).
