I am pleased to share with you “April,” a new piece I just finished this week. It is an oil on board piece, 10″x12″, with accents (in the sky) of pure silver leaf. Throughout the process of creating this piece, the posing of the models, the setting, the mood, I took inspiration from Rococo themes and atmosphere. Also, the colors and gestures used in Alexandre Cabanel’s “Birth of Venus” informed the colors in particular.
This piece will be the first that I am sure I want to exhibit at PAFA’s Annual Student Exhibition next year, as part of my thesis exhibition. More are in the works! 🙂
